Organic Cloth Diapers Reviews

What Are the Best Organic Cloth Diapers For Your Baby?

Are you curious about organic cloth diapers? They can be a great way to diaper your baby while helping the environment at the same time. They can also be a great choice if you are a budget conscious parent (and these days, who isn’t?). Fortunately, you have a lot of different options that are available today in the way of organic cloth diapering products.

First of all, it is important to understand the distinction of being “organic”. Quite simply it means that no harmful substances are used during the growing process. All too often, growers use chemical pesticides or growing agents to enhance their crops. Some of those substances are known carcinogens and others can cause serious skin irritation and allergies.

If something has an “organic” label, it means that no chemical substances were used during the growing process and it is considered to be a natural product. Cotton that is grown organically is a solid choice for diapers, because they are the least likely to irritate or chafe a baby’s bottom.

If you are worried about the convenience factor of organic cloth diapers, worry no more. You can use a cloth diaper cleaning service or toss them into the washer and dryer yourself. If you are very budget conscious, the best choice is to wash them yourself. It might mean a little extra effort will have to be expended on your part but it will help save you more money in the long run.

Organic prefold cloth diapers are by far the most inexpensive option. They are shaped like a rectangle and the middle consists of extra layers that are very absorbent. They can be fastened using diaper pins or fasteners (mostly sold separately). The fastening technique takes a bit of practice and can be challenging with a squirmy baby.

Diaper covers for prefold diapers are a requirement. Organic cloth diaper covers will add an extra layer of protection, and many of them are waterproof. They are available in many different patterns and colors. You can wash and dry them with the cloth diapers.

An organic all in one cloth diaper is a one piece diaper. The fasteners are often sewn into the fabric and they are adjustable so they can grow with your baby. Again, these come in many different styles and colors. They are more expensive than prefolds, but the care is the same and you don’t have to buy the added accessories such as diaper pins or covers. They are the most comparable option to disposables and don’t require advance knowledge about fastening like prefold cloth diapers do.

Organic baby cloth diapers are often a smart choice for parents. They are made to be used over and over again. After your baby outgrows them, they can be used as cleaning rags. They might require a little more effort to care for, but you’ll get the added satisfaction of knowing that you are doing your part to help preserve a healthy environment for your baby while providing comfort for your baby’s skin. Isn’t that what the best organic cloth diapers are for?

Actually, the picture of AIOs are NOT organic. They are PUL and fleece – NOT organic.
